Dr. Darrel Loder, of Smoky Valley Chiropractic in Lindsborg, designated TACOL as his community charity for the month of August. Parents as Teachers was the recipient of Dr. Loder's August Community Charity donation. Christy Mai is pictured with Dr. Loder accepting the donation. Christy serves the Smoky Valley and Ell-Saline school districts, and said that they had added 10 new families this year, so the funds will be put to good use!

Smoky Valley Chiropractic received the “Appreciation Award” from the Bethany Swedes Wrestling team. Dr. Loder is shown with Swedes Head Coach, Cody Garcia, accepting the award.    Dr. Loder and his staff have enjoyed taking care of these athletes during wrestling season, helping them return to the mat after injury, and enhancing their athletic performance.  We are happy to support Bethany Swedes Wrestling!

Dr. Darrel Loder is pictured with Michele Cullen, President of the Central Kansas Conservancy. Dr. Loder chose the Meadowlark Trail, Rails to Trails project as his community donation for the month of November. The trail from Lindsborg to McPherson is currently under construction. Being a health and wellness doctor, Dr. Loder encourages his patients to live active lifestyles. The trail provides another avenue for health and fitness to McPherson County residents.

Big Brother Donations

Big Brothers/Big Sisters was chosen as Dr. Loder's community charity for the month of November, with proceeds from new patient exams being given to this organization.

Dr. Darrel Loder and his daughter, Mattie, were guest speakers at the Soderstrom Elementary Health Fair on Oct. 22nd. Mattie, a high school cross country runner, spoke about healthy choices that help her maintain her health as an athlete and student. Dr. Loder spoke to the students about healthy choices regarding diet, exercise and positive thinking.

John was the recipient of the 2009 Smoky Valley Chiropractic Cancer Research Scholarship at Kansas State University. Dr. Loder celebrates his anniversary every fall with a special promotion for the cancer research center, offering chiropractic adjustments in return for a donation to cancer research. In 2008, Dr. Loder and his patients raised over $1200 in one day for this research scholarship. Dr. Loder has donated his services every September since 2005 for this scholarship, helping people understand the link between a healthy nervous system through chiropractic care and a healthy immune system.

Dr. Loder celebrated the 14th anniversary of Smoky Valley Chiropractic on September 11th, donating proceeds from every adjustment given that day to the cancer center, as well as accepting donations from patients for the center. Dr. Loder and his patients contributed over $1200 to the Cancer Center in their fund raising efforts.

Katy England, Salina artist, is shown with her newest piece of artwork on display at Smoky Valley Chiropractic. Katy graduated from Kansas State University with her degree in painting, and has worked on a variety of projects in the greater Salina area from murals, to watercolors, to classes at the Salina Art Center, to classes with the Memory Care unit at the Salina Presbyterian Manor. Katy is the sister-in-law of Dr. Darrel Loder.

Smoky Valley High School After Prom was Dr. Loder's designated community charity for the month of April 2010. Dr. Darrel Loder is shown presenting a check to After Prom Co-President, Tammy Cook. This year's After Prom was a huge success, giving juniors and seniors a safe place to have fun following their dance.
