Meet the Doctor

Dr. Darrel Loder, D.C., C.C.W.P

Dr. Darrel Loder is an honors graduate of Salina Central High School, Kansas State University and Palmer College of Chiropractic, who enjoys helping others live their lives without limits. He opened Smoky Valley Chiropractic in September of 1995 and focuses on a natural approach to health, wellness, and sports-related injuries. Dr. Loder has completed a post-doctorate certification in wellness, earning the designation as a Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner, only one of two doctors in the state of Kansas to have this distinction.  Dr. Loder has also completed post-doctorate training in sports injury management.

His lifestyle-based coaching addresses underlying causes to health problems, not just treating the symptoms. He offers very specialized low-force adjusting techniques including Torque Release and Activator Methods, as well as traditional manual procedures including Gonstead and Diversified. He is also trained in the utilization of Flexion Distraction Technique, which involves manual spinal decompression.

Dr. Loder also offers the following services: lifestyle coaching; orthopedic pillows, braces, and supports; prescription foot orthotics; electrical muscle stimulation; ultrasound; low level (cold) laser; and energy balancing footbaths.

Dr. Loder has served as team doctor for the Smoky Valley High School football team since 1995, and head coach & director of the Smoky Valley Wrestling Club since 1998.

Dr. Loder and his wife, Mari, make their home northwest of Marquette with their four children, Mattie, Weston, Ethan, and Ellie.  They enjoy outdoor activites with their family.

About The Staff

Traci Collins

Hi there!  I'm Traci Collins.  I began working with Dr. Loder in June 2010 in the Oakley office.  In June 2011, I moved to Lindsborg and started full-time in the Lindsborg office.  I was born and raised in western Kansas, and attended Colby Community College and Fort Hays. I am a certified massage therapist.  My parents, my 3 siblings and their families all live in western Kansas.  I love being outdoors, spending time with family, enjoying my dog, and being active.

Michelle Johnson

My name is Michelle Johnson and I have two great kids, Anthony & Ginny. I live in Lindsborg and my children have grown up and moved to Salina. By the time this is posted on our web site, Ginny will probably have moved again. I think she's getting a UHaul for Christmas! Anthony is engaged to Kimbree and they are planning a fall wedding in 2011. I have enjoyed working at SVC since the day Dr. Loder opened his practice in September of 1995. My joys in life are spending time with my family, taking walks, being outside, and of course giving Dr. Loder a hard time about being a K-State fan. GO KU!

Diana Matz

My name is Diana Matz.  I've worked at Smoky Valley Chiropractic since April of 2008.  I live in Lindsborg with my husband, David, and an assortment of pets.  We have three children; Jarod and David both live in California, but Melaney lives in town with her daughter, Addison.  I enjoy reading, gardening, exploring the area on foot and bicycle, and I love spoiling Addi!

Hannah Heideman
